Supporting communities to protect wildlife and enhance their local environment

Back

Our commitment to protecting the environment extends to the communities around our operations. We support them and encourage our employees to volunteer their time towards initiatives to protect biodiversity and enhance the local environment.

In 2019, our operation at Belsk in Poland supported the revitalisation of the Linden Alley, a 1km alley of lime trees dating back several hundred years. Activities included installing  paving, lighting and benches to enhance this important natural heritage.

In Canada, after witnessing the devastating flood of 2018, Ferrero Canada donated 100,000 USD to help restore waterfront trails in Brantford which were ravaged by the flood waters. More than 60 employees from the Brantford plant helped clean up the trails to support restoration efforts and to help ensure safe, clean and green trails.

Finally in Australia, Ferrero employees volunteered to support the Clean Up Australia campaign which aims to inspire and empower communities to clean up and conserve their natural environment. On a beautiful summer’s day, our volunteers cleaned up the Sydney Harbour parkland near the Ferrero building, removing plastic, cigarette butts, broken glass and other waste to ensure the parks and harbour areas remain as clean and beautiful as they are spectacular.
